Career journey

Liakat's finance career began in general accounting and month-end closing before moving into FP&A, cost control and internal audit as his responsibilities grew across manufacturing and export-oriented businesses. Along the way he took on progressively larger scope: from preparing reports to designing the reporting process itself, from following controls to designing and testing them, and from running an SAP FICO module to leading its implementation controls end to end. He holds an MBA and a BBA from Jagannath University and a postgraduate diploma in ICT, has partially completed the CMA (Cost and Management Accountant) qualification from ICMAB, and has professional certifications and training in SAP FICO, Power BI and workplace productivity and safety.

Beyond the office

Liakat has undertaken overseas business and sourcing trips to China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore, and volunteers with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society on disaster-preparedness and relief work, with national public-health vaccination drives, and with flood-relief efforts in Bangladesh. He also writes and maintains a personal collection of Bengali poetry, short stories and cultural essays, published separately on the Literature page.
